It traces the pattern from its evolutionary origins through family courts, corporate boardrooms, captured regulators, intelligence failures and the encoding of manipulative patterns in AI systems.
The book argues that the problem is architectural, not characterological. The villages didn't contain the pattern through moral superiority – they contained it through structure. Someone watched. The community remembered. The architecture worked. We need to rebuild it.
